Published - Saturday, July 19, 2008 Local girl gives back to area humane society A young girl from Holmen decided to celebrate her 11th birthday in a different way this year Emma Grant, daughter of Dan and Lisa Grant, and her family adopted a beagle mix dog from the Trempealeau County Humane Society last fall and named her Molly. Because Molly has given Grant so much love and friendship, Grant wanted to give back. When Grant’s birthday drew near, she decided that instead of everyone bringing presents for her, she wanted to give something back to the humane society where she got Molly. She asked all her friends attending the party to bring a dog or cat gift that could be donated to the shelter. The TCHS, located on Highway 53, between Blair and Ettrick, runs solely on donations and money raised through fundraisers. Grant’s caring and generous gifts will make the animals living at the shelter a lot happier. For more information about the TCHS or how you can help through donations or volunteering, call (608) 525-2300 and leave a message.
