Police and fire calls

The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska Police Department

Monday, June 23

8:18 p.m. — A 50-year-old man reported his bicycle, valued at $400, was stolen while it was locked on the bike rack of the Wal-Mart where he worked.

9:19 p.m. — A 33-year-old woman reported her wallet had been stolen while she was at the library.

9:20 p.m. — An 18-year-old woman reported her purse was stolen from a friend’s unlocked car parked near Onalaska High School while they played Frisbee.

9:44 p.m. — An 18-year-old man was arrested after a fight on the 600 block of Fourth Avenue North. He was charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct and underage consumption and put on a probation hold.

11:43 p.m. — A 20-year-old man was arrested hiding in a basement on the 800 block of Fourth Avenue North for underage drinking. He was suspected of being involved in a fight earlier in the evening and he was wanted on a municipal warrant for $209. His blood alcohol content was 0.106

Tuesday, June 24

No time given — A 27-year-old woman reported a suspicious driver in the neighborhood along the 800 block of Pierce Street. A man was seen driving very slowly along the block and sometimes getting out to talk to children. When adults approached, he sped away. Police were able to trace the license plate on the vehicle to a 50-year-old Onalaska man who gave no justification for driving in the area.

4:30 a.m. — A 57-year-old woman at the assisted living home on Critter Court called police because she thought someone had opened her front door. She had heard a loud crack and went to investigate and found her front door open. She complained that this had happened several times in the past, that she hadn’t reported it and that last week $85 was missing from her purse.

10:02 a.m. — A 25-year-old man reported his bicycle, valued at $400, was stolen off the bike rack on the back of his car while it was parked in the garage on the 1500 block of Well Street.

Noon — A 15-year-old boy reported his bicycle, valued at $175, stolen from the Onalaska High School bike rack.

12:20 p.m. — A 13-year-old girl reported her bicycle, valued at $150, stolen from the OHS bike rack.

Wednesday, June 25

2:56 a.m. — A 32-year-old Onalaska man was arrested in connection with a domestic disturbance while behind the community center. The man was arrested for bail jumping as his bond prohibited alcohol consumption. An 18-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant for retail theft.

5:22 a.m. — A resident on the 500 block of Vilas Street said he saw two juveniles jogging and saw one of them damage a mailbox with his hand. Other mailboxes in the neighborhood were damaged.

1:30 p.m. — A 77-year-old man reported receiving what he thought was information regarding a scam. He received a letter saying he was the lucky winner of $57,000. A check was enclosed for almost $4,000 and the letter said it was for administrative payment and clearance fees. The check was fraudulently written on a Del Monte Foods account.

4:55 p.m. — A 20-year-old woman reported jewelry stolen at Sue Kolve’s Salon sometime Saturday or Sunday. She left the diamond necklace left it in the facial room and forgot it. No one had turned it in. It is valued at $700.

Thursday, June 26

4:24 p.m. — A 30-year-old woman on the 700 block of St. Paul Street reported receiving prank phone calls.

6:07 p.m. — An employee at Lindy’s Subs reported someone falsely ordered $52 worth of food for delivery on the 2600 block of East Avenue North.

8:17 p.m. — Police rescued a dog that had been left outside all day without food or water on the 100 block of Troy Street. The Humane Society took custody of the dog.

10:09 p.m. — A 44-year-old woman reported someone had broken out the window of her van parked on the 1000 block of 10th Avenue North. The damage is estimated at $150.

Saturday, June 28

12:42 a.m. — While on patrol, police found a vehicle belonging to a 24-year-old man with the rear windshield knocked out while it was parked on the 1400 block of Franklin Street.

9:13 a.m. — A 25-year-old woman reported a burglary at her apartment on the 500 block of Quincy Street. Someone cut the screen leading to her living room while she was out the night before. She noticed the cut screen in the morning and discovered more than $500 was missing from a hidden spot in her home.

Holmen Police Department

June 17

5:29 p.m. — a 35-year-old man reported items stolen from his storage unit at the Galaxy Self Storage. Stereo and speaker equipment, a car radio, amplifiers, VCRs, DVDs and receivers valued at $2,165 were stolen.

Monday, June 23

8:23 a.m. — A 53-year-old woman reported her car was damaged while parked on the 1500 block of Wolfe Drive on June 14. Someone had tried to pry her hood up with a crow bar but was unable to open it.

9:26 a.m. — Several employees of the Holmen School district reported two boys were urinating near the district office.

1:07 p.m. — Three juveniles were referred to social services after they admitted throwing rocks by the Linden Street apartments. Four vehicles had been damaged by the rocks.

1:40 p.m. — Police received reports of a grass fire on the 1400 block of Pioneer Drive. The complainant’s son fired a bottle rocket that started the fire. The youth was given a verbal warning.

8:21 p.m. — A 44-year-old woman reported the rear windshield of her car was broken out while it was parked on the 600 block of Amy Drive. Witnesses heard the window blow out around 7 p.m. but did not see anything or anyone nearby.

Wednesday, June 25

10:15 p.m. — A woman reported her 17-year-old son had moved out of the house and had taken a pistol without permission from their home on the 1200 block of Harvest Circle. A rifle was returned to the home.

Thursday, June 26

12:58 a.m. — Police responded to a home on the 3000 block of Locust Avenue South after a report a baby was shaking and having a seizure.

Friday, June 27

1:25 p.m. — Police assisted first responders help a 73-year-old man who had fallen in the bathroom and hit his head.

3:36 p.m. — Police responded to a call on the 3100 block of Cedar Avenue South about a group of boys playing in the park with some kind of animal dragging it by the tail. Nothing was found.

6:36 p.m. — Police assisted a man who hit a sign while riding his bike on the 500 block of Anderson Street.

8:03 p.m. — Police investigated a noise complaint on the 300 block of Gaarder Road East. Several kids with music turned up real loud in a garage were given a verbal warning.

Saturday, June 28

2:32 p.m. — A man reported someone had shot an arrow at the door of his home on the 1600 block of Cliffview Drive. An arrow was stuck above the entry door.

Sunday, June 29

11:15 p.m. — Police responded to the Burger King to assist a woman who was having a seizure.

Tuesday, June 24

10:52 a.m. — Fire call on the 300 block of Fourth Avenue North for a carbon monoxide problem.

7:47 p.m. — First responder call on 10th Avenue North for a baby who fell.

8:08 p.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for someone who had foot pain.

Wednesday, June 25

3:14 a.m. — Fire call on the 900 block of Main Street for a smoke detector activation.

6:24 p.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person in respiratory distress.

10:06 p.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for a person injured in a fall.

11:08 p.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person with chest pain.

Thursday, June 26

11:48 a.m. — First responder call on Quincy Street and Oak Avenue North for a bicycle accident.

3:10 p.m. — First responder call on Riders Club Road for a child who was not breathing.

Friday, June 27

9:37 p.m. — First responder call on Highway 16 for a person who was passed out.

11:25 p.m. — First responder call on Quarry Lane for a person with a breathing problem.

Saturday, June 28

6:53 a.m. — Fire and first responder call on Smith Valley and Brookview roads for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

6:55 p.m. — First responder call on Highway 35 for motorcycle accident with injuries.

Sunday, June 29

11:38 a.m. — First responder call on Main Street for a person injured in a fall.

9:11 p.m. — First responder call on Second Avenue North for a Lifeline call.

Monday, June 30

5:39 a.m. — First responder call on West Avenue for a person who was passed out.

5:44 p.m. — First responder call on Ninth Avenue South for a person injured in a fall.

9:44 p.m. — First responder call on 14th Avenue North for a person having difficulty breathing.

Sunday, June 22

5:42 p.m. — First responder call on the 300 block of Irene Place for a person with a medical problem.

6:55 p.m. — First responder call on the 400 block of Anderson Street for a person injured in a fall

Tuesday, June 24

1:42 p.m. — Fire call on the 1400 block of Pioneer Drive for a fire that was out before they got there.

2:02 p.m. — First responder call on the N6000 block of Highway SN for a vehicle accident with injuries.

Wednesday, June 25

3:45 p.m. — Fire call on the W6600 block of Highway T for a smoke detector activation.

10:48 p.m. — First responder call on the 100 block of Brentwood Lane for a person with a medical problem.

11:58 p.m. — First responder call on the 3000 block of Locust Avenue South for a person having a seizure.

Thursday, June 26

1:26 p.m. — Fire call on the N5600 block of Highway 35 South for a rubbish fire.

8 p.m. — First responder call on the N7200 block of Highway D for a person having a diabetic reaction.

Friday, June 27

5:12 a.m. — First responder call on W6600 block of Highway T for a person having a diabetic reaction.

1:27 p.m. — First responder call on the 1700 block of Viking Avenue for a person injured in a fall.

6:36 p.m. — First responder call on the 500 block of Anderson Street for a person with a head injury.

6:59 p.m. — First responder call on the 1500 block of Wolfe Drive for a person with an illness.

Saturday, June 28

7:33 a.m. — First responder call on the 600 block of Russell Drive North for a person having a seizure.

10:32 a.m. — First responder call on the 200 block of Long Coulee Road for a person injured in a fall.
