The following log is based on reports from the Holmen and Onalaska police and fire departments.

Onalaska Police Department

Thursday, May 29

9:27 p.m. — A 56-year old man reported someone stole a number of items from his pole shed on the 3100 block of Kinney Coulee Road North. Stolen items included a 20-foot hay elevator (worth $200), four bundles of barbed wire weighing approximately 300 pounds and about 50 metal fence posts of unknown value. The man said his daughter saw a truck leaving the property with some items, but assumed it was one of her father’s co-workers or friends.

Monday, June 2

7:19 a.m. — A man reported his 16-year-old daughter had received threatening e-mails from a 17-year-old girl, including a hate club posting on a MySpace page. Police were unable to confirm the hate club page but charged the 17-year-old with disorderly conduct for the e-mail threat.

Monday, June 2

10:37 a.m. — A 39-year-old man on the 2000 block of Grandview Boulevard reported a number of fraudulent transactions on his Visa Card.

Tuesday, June 3

7:42 a.m. — A woman reported $400 was stolen from her purse, which was in her car while it was parked overnight in the apartment building parking lot. She said she thought she had locked the car. She found the purse on the front seat and open. Nothing else was stolen except the money.

Wednesday, June 4

9:20 a.m. — A 14-year-old boy was charged with battery for punching another 14-year-old boy in the head, knocking him unconscious while at Onalaska Middle School. The boy who punched the other said he didn’t know how else to make the boy stop harassing him.

5:45 p.m. — A 26-year-old Mindoro man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia and a 20-year-old was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The car in which they were in contained a syringe with 20 cc’s of methamphetamine and 0.2 grams in a clear plastic bag. The methamphetamine belonged to the 26-year-old, who also had two outstanding warrants against him for failure to pay child support.

Thursday, June 5

12:48 p.m. — A 23-year-old woman reported someone had tried to pull her over. She was driving to work when she turned south on 10th Avenue North from Vilas Street. A forest green Acura Integra pulled up behind her and turned on a red dashboard light. The vehicle continued to follow her as she turned east bound on Quincy Street. As she approached Sand Lake Road, she saw a marked squad car going south on Sand Lake. The driver following her immediately turned the red lights off and turned left on Sand Lake Road.

Friday, June 6

7:39 p.m. — An 18-year-old man was arrested for theft for stealing a scooter from a residence on the 800 block of Redwood Street.

1:38 p.m. — A 30-year-old Onalaska man reported a fraudulent charge on his wife’s checking account. A charge was made for $471.93 from a store in the United Kingdom.

Sunday, June 8

2:04 a.m. — A 63-year-old woman passed away suddenly in her home on the 1200 block of Well Street. Police and EMTs could not resuscitate her.

10:10 a.m. — A 16-year-old girl reported someone damaged her car while it was parked overnight on the 2100 block of Evenson Drive. It appeared someone had struck a blunt object against the car behind and above the driver’s side rear window.

10:45 a.m. — A Sun Prairie woman reported she had a number of items taken from her vehicle while she was in the area for a wedding over the weekend. Approximately $1,700 worth of jewelry was stolen from bags locked in the car.

Midnight — A 25-year-old woman reported being physically assaulted by the father of her two children. He battered her when she tried to retrieve money she thinks he stole from her. She was bleeding from a cut on her forehead. She said she had also been bitten. She was taken to Gundersen Lutheran and needed stitches to close the wound.

Holmen Police Department

Wednesday, June 4

9:48 a.m. — A 16-year-old girl was cited for habitual truancy from Holmen High School.

10:10 a.m. — A 14-year-old girl was cited for habitual truancy from Holmen High School.

10:15 p.m. — A 17-year-old boy was cited for truancy from Holmen High School.

3 p.m. — A 16-year-old boy reported his car had been vandalized while parked at the high school. Someone sprayed expanding foam in the door locks and the door seams.

8:04 p.m. — Holmen police assisted the La Crosse County Sheriff’s office with an altercation on W6800 block of Walden Place. A 20-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were arrested for threatening to shoot the complainant and her brother.

9:33 p.m. — A caller reported hearing two gunshots somewhere around the 100 block of Commerce Street. Nothing was found.

10:15 p.m. — A caller reported someone had just flashed a light into the window of his residence on Brentwood Lane. Nothing was found.

Thursday, June 5

5:45 p.m. — A 17-year-old girl cited for habitual truancy from Holmen High School

7:50 p.m. — A woman on the 1500 block of Holley Street was given a verbal warning after a noise complaint for loud music coming from the residence.

8:14 p.m. — A 16-year-old girl was cited for habitual truancy from Holmen High School.

Friday, June 6

2:52 p.m. — Police responded to a call from the Burger King regarding a pregnant woman who had passed out in her car. She said she had been having a cramp.

4 p.m. — Police responded to a call at the aquatic center regarding a fight involving 10 to 15 youths. No one was found.

Saturday, June 7

10:29 a.m. — Police responded to a call regarding a sinkhole on Lee Street.

Sunday, June 8

12:25 a.m. — A 60-year-old man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct and a probation hold after an altercation with his live-in girlfriend on the 600 block of Amy Drive. The man and woman had different versions of the story, but the man kept changing his version and witnesses said they heard him yelling and swearing obscenities toward the woman.

3:52 a.m. — Holmen police assisted the La Crosse County sheriff’s office on a call on the W7400 block of Chris Court. A house was filling up with smoke and the next-door residence was full of natural gas. The fire department had to make a forced entry into the dwelling.

Tuesday, June 3

2:30 a.m. — First responder call on East Avenue North for a person with leg pain.

6:42 p.m. — Fire call on Winter Street for a downed power line.

Wednesday, June 4

9:43 a.m. — First responder call on Gundersen Drive for a person possibly having a stroke.

7:40 p.m. — First responder call on Highway PH for a person injured in a fall.

Thursday, June 5

2:03 a.m. — First responder call on Green Coulee Road for a person with an asthma problem.

9:50 a.m. — First responder call on Kinney Coulee Road South for a person with a diabetic problem.

12:13 p.m. — Fire call on Mason Street for a fire detector activation but there was no fire.

12:26 p.m. — First responder call on East Avenue North for a person experiencing dizziness.

3:22 p.m. — Fire call on East Larkspur Lane for unauthorized burning.

3:30 p.m. — First responder call on East Main Street for someone whose knee was stuck in a play set.

6:07 p.m. — First responder call on Pine Crest Lane for someone who was in pain.

8:28 p.m. — Fire call on 10th Avenue North for an activation of an alarm but there was no fire.

11:15 p.m. — First responder call on Redwood Street for someone injured in a fall.

Friday, June 6

5:02 a.m. — First responder call on 13th Avenue South for a person having a seizure.

11:27 a.m. — Fire and first responder call on Second Avenue North and Locust Street for a vehicle accident with injuries.

5:09 p.m. — First responder call 10th Avenue North for someone in cardiac arrest.

Saturday, June 7

11:19 a.m. — First responder call on Mason Street for a person injured in a fall.

6:48 p.m. — First responder call on Eighth Avenue North for a person with a head injury.

Sunday, June 8

12:06 a.m. — First responder call on 10th Avenue North for a person injured in an assault.

2:05 a.m. — First responder call on Well Street for a possible death.

6:20 a.m. — Fire call on Main Street for the removal of a victim.

9:33 a.m. — First responder on 13th Court for a person with a possible overdose.

9:34 a.m. — First responder call on Poplar Street for a child with a finger stuck in a shredder.

9:17 p.m. — Fire call on Sixth Avenue North for a downed power line.

Monday, June 9

4:56 a.m. — First responder call on Critter Court for a person injured in a fall.

7:22 a.m. — Fire call on Pierce Street for a report of a person complaining of wind.

8:08 p.m. — First responder call on First Avenue South for a report of a child being hit by a train. No one was hurt.

9:56 p.m. — Fire call on Johnson Place for what turned out to be a false alarm.

3:03 a.m. — First responder call on the 600 block of Russell Drive South for a person who was ill.

Friday, June 5

3:31 a.m. — Fire call on the 100 block of Anderson Street for a downed power line.

3:31 a.m. — Fire call on the 800 block of First Avenue East for a downed power line.

9:32 a.m. — Fire call on the W7800 block of Maple Street for a downed power line.

10:05 a.m. — Fire call on the 300 block of Maple Street for a downed power line.

1:42 p.m. — First responder call on the W7200 block of Highway Z for a person with an arm injury.

2:53 p.m. — First responder call on the 1500 block of Holmen Drive North for a person with an unknown medical problem.
