" Move the event from memorial week-end, there's other things we should be focused on. Also, why not hold some events at the old legion grounds? Split things up a bit. "

" This year's medallion hunt was a fiasco! Why did the Jaycees keep running the classified ad in the Tribune for at least two days after the medallion was found, and why didn't the Jaycees let the Tribune know about it so they could put a news item in? Talk about SNAFU! "

" Allow people in for free or bring better entertainment in. Bringing in unknown bands that play the same old tired stuff that you can hear at any other festival is not what I would pay to see. Bring in a variety, perhaps a retro 80's band like the Dweebs or Brat Prack with a local band opening like the Freezers. The weekend is so crammed with graduation parties that it was going to take more then what was lined up for entertainment to get me up there to celebrate. "

" I did not go to Sunfish Days. It is too hard to go to graduation, have a graduation party and show your grad how much you love them, plus do all the Sunfish Days activities. They should not be on the same weekend. And having both of those activities over Memorial Day kind of defeats the purpose of Memorial Day when we should be honoring those who have fought and died for this country. "

" Smoking in the OmniCenter? Whose idea was that? "

not a fan of indoor smoke wrote on May 31, 2008 6:31 AM:

" Went to hear band, but when I found smoking inside Omni center, could not handle it - outside smoking better tolerated as there is more air circulation. There are signs inside Omni Center stating "no smoking" but when I asked security person and button selling person, they said they could not enforce the no-smoking policy at Omni Center. (Not sure why, since signs are posted) So I asked for my button money back and they graciously returned it. So, I do not think I will attend indoor festing at Omni center again unless the non-smoking policy can be enforced.

Very dark inside the indoor "tent" area, would consider holding it on the covered outdoor section along the side of the Omni Center if this continues to be the location. "

" Hmm.....what to do about Sunfish Days? I did go on Saturday, and the kids seemed to have a good time. The buttons were priced right, we had decent weather most of the time. I really think the main reasons for the low turnout is a trifecta: A:Our sense of community is lacking, B: there are SO many festivals you won't miss anything if you don't go, and finally, C: it's scary to think you can have two beers and get a DWI. I think it's time to re-invent the wheel when it comes to Sunfish Days. "

" I attended the parade, spent several hours in the beer "tent" Saturday night, and took the kids to the carnie on Sunday.

I thought the parade could have used more bands. Its no longer about entertainment it seems to be all advertisement.

The beer "tent" had canned beverages which is a plus, but they were $2.50 per. If you want to draw a crowd drop the prices to less than you pay at a regular bar. I heard Nutbush was packed and I know the "tent" had a small crowd. I wonder where all of the 21 - 35 year olds were. They were not at the "tent". I think the Omni is not an ideal location for the beer "tent". Not enough of an open feel for a festival. It may be time to consider moving back to the Legion grounds or to actually erect a tent outside at the Omni.

The carnie was the carnie. Nothing special to report.

Make your event the premier event of the season and people will come. As it stands people are not adjusting their schedules to attend any of Sunfish Days. "

" There were a number of bands I would have liked to see and that is the biggest attraction for me, but I had out-of-town plans. "

" I did not go but I always enjoy reading about the Sunfish Days medalion hunt. I did not attend the events overall though because there is nothing there that interests me. What about a walk/run? "
